Photography: A piece of history.

Today, I want to show you an important and unforgettable photo.

Thích Quảng Đức is the man in the picture, he was a budist monk who was protesting against the government of Vietnam, because people who follow budism were being pursued. The monk was in one of the main streets in Saigon. Showing desperation, this monk burnt himself, and his history has traveled around the world. This photograph was taken in 1963 by Malcolm Browne, a famous photographer who won the Pulitzer after showing this photo to the world.
This picture calls my atention because it shows how some persons who have control over a society, abuse them, and they don't tolerant people who think in a different way. And how deseperate persons do unbelievable things to support a cause. Ideas such as culture and religion must be respected, expressing freedom is very important, and everybody should be allowed to be the way they want.
Today this photo is a culture icon, and even Rage Against The Machine, a famous american band, used this picture in one of their cd cover, bridging the generations gap. I wish that events like this, will never happen again.
